Each week we bring you a good news story from across the South West as part of our wedNEWSday articles.
Since England Netball and the Women’s Institute (WI) created their partnership, numerous individuals have got a wiggle back on court by taking part in Walking netball sessions. Marle Hill WI and Hartpury WI’s (Gloucestershire) formed a joint partnership as part of the national programme and have completed their 20 week block of supported sessions with England Netball.
For the last supported session they organised and held a mini tournament with a Walking Netball group from Cirencester, which saw the players put what they had learnt in a competitive environment which they all enjoyed. They will now continue to run the sessions themselves as one of their players Liz Henchy has qualified as a WI Walking Netball Host from the recent training course in Bristol. Liz will begin coaching this week assisting with existing host Vicki Wood and they are looking forward to continuing Walking Netball with these WI’s.
Each week we will be updating you on a good news story from the South West as part of our new wedNEWSday articles. If you have a good news story that you would like to share please send your story and a picture to Laura Woodruff (southwest@englandnetball.co.uk)
