Honiton NC support Netball Development Trust

Honiton Netball Club (Devon) held a tournament to raise funds for the Netball Development Trust (NDT) sanitary pad appeal. Girls in Kenya are likely to miss four school days a month because of their periods. Without hygienic sanitary pads, many are forced not to go to school and will miss out on playing netball.

NDT are supporting the Kenyan project to buy sanitary pads for the girls in their programme to make their lives easier, healthier and happier. They aim to raise a minimum of £2500 which will help at least 240 of the netball girls and 16 female coaches to keep playing and training effectively. The money will allow them to give each girl a packet of pads per month.

20 teams from the local league participated in a fun filled event which raised £215 for the appeal. They also arranged a bra collection for bras that were still in good condition to be taken by the NDT when they next go on tour, to give to young girls and women they work with (they collected 178 in total!).
